The Amazon Echo Smart Speaker connects to Alexa. Alexa is a cloud based, voiced driven, virtual assistant. You can use your Amazon Echo to play music, set alarms and timers, make calls, check your diary, check the weather. As Alexa’s skills grow you can do more and more, including controlling connected devices such as light, thermostats, kettle, the list is continually growing.
Ask Alexa to play you a song, or a playlist of songs by a specific artist. Even ask Alexa to tell you who is singing this song. Play music from your streaming accounts such as Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, TuneIn and more. Group more than one Echo device together and you can play the same music in multiple rooms, or keep it separate and you can play your one tunes in your own room.
You can use your Amazon Echo to call almost anyone hands-fee in the UK on a mobile or residential number (from UK only). You can also call other Amazon Echo devices, the Alexa app on your phone and Skype. With Vodaphone? If so you can link your account so that you can make and receive mobile calls. Your Amazon Echo has the ability to drop in on other rooms so you can call the kids in for their tea, or tell mum “not now I’m busy”
Got a good audio book on the go? Amazon Echo can play that for you from your Audible Subscription, also play radio stations or maybe read you the latest news. The options are endless.
The Amazon Echo 2nd generation has a new speaker with Dolby Processing that helps to fill the room with immersive, omnidirectional 360-degree audio. This delivers crisp vocals, a deep bass and clear higher at louder volume levels than ever before.
With seven microphones on the Amazon Echo using beam forming technology and noise cancellation your Amazon Echo will hear you wherever you may be in the room even while music is playing or there is background noise.
Alexa is continuously getting smarter and smarter and adding new features and skills. Ask Alexa to dial you an Uber, order you a Dominos, tell you the weather or give you the latest travel news. The things you can do are endless.
